a busy week

Yes, it’s been a busy week!  But a good one, so that’s ok.  Yesterday we minded my friends (5) children (including baby) while they were at a wedding, but they were such good kids it went off without a hitch.  And we had a lovely lunch today, which luckily was an easy one to prep yesterday morning, and lovely company too.

On Friday I did a casual nanny shift with a baby who slept for over half of the shift, and was such a happy baby it was a dream job.  I’m really very spoilt with my nanny work- I just love the babies, and we have such fun together that it seems a bonus that I get paid aswell!

On Wednesday a seamstress friend came over and helped Zoe and I cut out and start to sew a tricky dress that has been sitting on the back burner for ages.  What happened was I saw the photo on Pinterest, followed the link and it was a free pattern offered by Bernina!  So I went to print it out, clicking on google-translate to get it out of German, and thought “anyway, all the pattern pieces are here so how hard can it be?”  Well, (sigh).  Even Suz said it wasn’t easy.  But we’re well into it now, and one more session with my friend we should get it complete.  We unfortunately couldn’t find a summery floral bordered print like the one pictured, but we did get a lovely floral and Suz had all the tricks to get the most flattering arrangement of floral in the right places (like, as if Zoe needs any help anyway!)  So Zoe’s looking forward to wearing it this summer.

But what I wanted to share, was the photos of the single bed throw that I finished earlier this week, that is up for sale on my Etsy shop.  It turns out the bed I “borrowed” to photograph it on is a king single, so the rug is a good size to fit over that width.

And I have started to get back to crocheting my road play mat squares, the fun continues!
