cabled beanies

cabled beanies

Did I mention I’ve been making cabled beanies?   Well, I’m really enjoying the challenge, which is not really a challenge anymore, just pure enjoyment.  I can’t show you a photo yet because I’ve ordered faux racoon fur pompoms to go on the top to give them a really professional look.  (The last pompoms I made for Zoe’s ribbed beanies look very homemade.)

But I’m using this pattern,

and I also bought this pattern,

which I would like to try soon.  I just went upstairs and raided my 8ply stash to see what there was enough of to make more beanies out of- I found a tweedy alpaca blend in a chambray blue, and I also found the left over from an aqua top that I made Zoe, that reminded me I was going to make this gorgeous ruffle romper with.  (Pattern by Mon Petit Violon Designs)

And attach a white and yellow daisy onto aswell I think.  So more plans afoot, that’s how we roll…

I’ve also been enjoying making my own curry pastes and beetroot homous, and basil pesto and vegetable stock in the thermomix- it’s so great to make them yourself rather than buy the ones with preservatives that don’t taste so good either.
