everything is on hold
so everything else is on hold because I can see that it might just be possible (if I work around the clock) for me to finish the road play mat in time for my nephews and nieces to play with it when they’re all here on Christmas day. Even mum is going to help me weave in all the baziliion ends and sew on the two bazillion buttons, I’ll see also if I can enlist Zoe’s help here too… Actually she’s already helping by doing the ironing and helping with the cooking so maybe that’s enough. To tell you the truth last night she was a genius helping me work out the curved road pieces- it’s doing my head in how there are 4 different curves but it turns out curve B and curve D are actually the same piece, just flipped; but curves A and C are not. It’s got to do with how the button loops are on the bottom and left hand sides, so you can turn a square piece around, but not all four ways. She also worked out how I can crochet curve C which had me stumped because… well it’s hard to explain. It’s about how you can’t change colour while you’re doing your beginning chain row… Anyway, we’re sorted and surging ahead.
A few pond pieces to go, the gorgeous vegetable patch and all the buttons. And did I mention sewing on all the buttons?
Basic meringues as gifts for the families we work for. Plus a book for each child.
Gotta get back to work…
