Hawaiian theme dessert bar
So the dessert bar worked out really well! My only concern was that everything was out of the fridge for about 2 hours before it got eaten- I hope things weren’t looking a little sad by the time the guests got to choose their dessert. The room was lovely and cool when I was setting up so hopefully all was ok and I heard a report that everything got eaten up! Which makes we worry that maybe there wasn’t enough! But I counted what I made, and there were 41 serves, so enough for 2 somethings each. Anyway.
Thanks to the lovely Anna’s who decorated the room so beautifully! And I’m so glad that I didn’t buy those awful bright orange plasticy things that Cheap as Chips were selling as the closest thing to hibiscus. Catherine had beautiful white orchids for the tables which looked so pretty, and my moth orchid didn’t look at all out of place. I wanted to put the food straight onto the wooden rounds and tableclothes etc, without cluttering up the table with plates, so those green fronds that I bought (it was a child’s dress up skirt) were just right for stopping the fruit juice leaking all over the tablecloth. And yes, I’m so glad I did the fruit kebabs at the last minute- they just finished it off.
Now I better get back to my crochet nativity set– I need to finish it pronto to sell on my Etsy shop before christmas! Nearly done now.
