Did I mention that I was given a new Kenwood mixer for my birthday? Well, when I say new, I mean “as new”, it was gifted to a lady who didn’t want one, so Ben bought it for me. And I’ve been testing it out- yesterday I made “death by chocolate cupcakes” by Sally’s Baking Addiction, and today I made “Suzy’s fantastic chocolate cake”– an old favourite that we used to make at work in Rundle Street (Marigold Gardens/Liberty Bookshop). (It has toasted ground almond meal instead of flour- yummy) And I absolutely love the new mixing attachment that you can use instead of the K blade for creaming butter etc- it has a rubber spatula-ish thingy on it that scrapes the sides of the bowl for you while working! Because I’ve had Kenwood’s before I’ve kept the bowls and attatchments which is so handy dandy when you are making cupcake batter in one bowl, and frosting in the other, or whipping egg whites in one, and creaming butter etc in the other… And of course I just love my dishwasher on baking days! Plus I made Gypsy soup for tonight’s dinner, and two potato topped vegie pies for tomorrow’s ecclesial lunch.
Because of the beautiful warm, sunny weather we’ve had these last two days my other tulip bulb got all confused- it has started flowering down at ground level instead of growing up straight and tall first!
and another chocolate mention- did you see the beautiful gift boxed Haigh’s chocolates from one of my nanny families?
I am a bit spoilt 🙂 And yes, I am sharing them!
