on holiday in NZ

So Ben and I are having a lovely time away in New Zealand, meeting lots of lovely people and seeing lots of wonderful sights.  Can you tell I’m not into scenery shots though?  Ben is snapping away all the time, so I don’t have to worry about it.  I did take this one of the front doorway of our friend’s new home- doesn’t that look nice and inviting?  It was so lovely catching up with old friends properly, and enjoying their country hospitality.

Did I mention that before we left Dunedin we visited historic Olveston– such a beautiful old home with all the furniture, crockery, candles etc still intact- amazing to take the tour!  Did you ever see dinner table candles with little silk lampshades around the flame before?  So ornate and beautiful- I wish I could have taken a photo of them!

Tonight’s accomodation is a bit special- and there is even a washing machine in here too- how handy!  It’s not even cold here either- a nice surprise.  Though I must admit I am starting to look forward to being back home again…
