perpetual calendar
Look at this beautiful toy that was bought for one of the children I nanny for.
It’s a perpetual calendar and it has the seasons represented too. You can change the date each day by turning the number cubes, change the month by taking the coloured person from the month in the circle and placing it in the centre, and talk about the seasons of the year which are in 4 quarter arcs. There is even a little wooden bowl to place blossom, or leaves, or gumnuts or whatever you collect that day on your outing.
I just love it. There are also matching coloured rings to place over the little people when the month has expired. I love the natural wood and the colours they have used too. Don’t you just love handmade toys!
