Teddy Bear's Picnic

So did I mention that today was our annual Teddy Bear’s Picnic for playgroup?  We have it up on the beautiful grounds at Carrick Hill, and it was a lovely day for it, just the right amount of sun.  I haven’t got any photos to show (all other people’s children) but I can report that a good time was had by all.  I can’t remember how many years I have been doing the teddy bear’s picnic, but I do know I’ve got a date for another one in October, and it’s all good fun and no stress.

Plus, when I was nannying on Tuesday one of my litte twins had outgrown all his beanies (I was looking for one because the morning started off a bit crisp), so when I got home I got to work on a little project for him (if his mum likes it)

there is this one, but it is just ordinary wool, and potentially a little scratchy?  And then this one in one of my more gourmet yarns

and here they are together, just for fun

this is the pattern I based it on, and I used a 4.5mm hook.  Basically you start with a magic ring, 11 dc into it, increase for 3 rows, then straight dc for a few more rows, then either work the rib, or don’t, as you feel in the moment.  You can’t really go wrong.

Oh, and I gave my nephew his dinosaur hat this morning!  Yes, he loves it!

Anyway, I better hop to bed now…
