what shall I say?
Good thing beanies are quick and easy to crochet! There was this ribbed one, and then another one similar to the other one I made recently, but in different colours. This one is slightly better because I perfected the stripes without the jolt at the seam from crocheting in the round to start off. How? Well the round before I got to the stripes I stopped crocheting in the round and joined with a slip stitch and chain 1 to start the next round, but I pulled the chain 1 really tight so it’s really small, and repeated the process to finish the beanie.
And guess what we did on Tuesday? NOT my ordinary Tuesday by any means- we went up a mountain on a gondola! So steep, so high!
and I was just a little bit scared! And here we are at the top having coffee
Such a nice, crisp, sunny Autumn day. And the air up there- so clear too!
Another amazing thing we did here was a cruise on Doubtful Sound– the cascading waterfalls are really something else! Plus the water is so deep and the mountains so steep that the boat could go in really close to the waterfalls- we went right underneath one of them and drunk from the water by catching it in plastic cups- so clear and fresh! And the skipper turned off all the engines and we were in silence for a bit just enjoying the sound of the waterfalls. It was pretty special. Ben has a billion and two photos.
I have had heaps of time to crochet the jumper/tunic I am making for Zoe- it’s coming along nicely.
And did I tell you that I say the biggest bee I’ve ever seen in the Dunedin Botanical Gardens here? It’s a bumble bee- so big and soft and fluffy!
Though I wouldn’t try to cuddle it if I were you.
