what was I scared of?!

and no, it wasn’t the pair of pale green pants with nobody inside them

what- you don’t know that book?  You really should read it to a middle sized child and enjoy it together.

for some reason I was nervous about making tassels- pah!  they’re a cinch!  I didn’t do it the way the pattern said because it sounded tedious to cut 90 short lengths of yarn, the way I ended up doing it was a mash up of 3 that I googled…

well I got 2 stiffish bits of card the same size (13.5cm long to be exact) and held them together while I wound the yarn around 50 times.  Then with 2 longish bits of yarn (46cm to be exact) I sent 1 piece down between the pieces of card, and pulled it up to the top to tie the 50 strands together with a tight knot.  Then I inserted the scissors between the bottom pieces of card and cut.  Then with the other longish bit of yarn, I cinched the strands together about 2cm down from the topToo Easy Peasy.  oh, and I combed the ends a bit to make them thickish at the base.

Now I’ve just got a couple more rows to go on the shawl, and I can attach them, then I’m done!

We had a lovely time with my nephew and nieces over, and fit in lots of fun stuff by the way.
